Welcome

The District of Saanich Council encourages you to use this budget education tool to see the breakdown of how your property tax dollars are used to fund Saanich’s programs and services, and for you to provide your feedback on the draft 2022 annual budget prior to the final adoption.

As you advance through the process of building your ideal budget, please keep in mind the "My Municipal Taxes" bill represents ONLY the Muncipal Operations portion of your property tax bill, and that the figures presented do not include additional amounts that are also levied through property taxation for other organizations.

The draft 2022-2026 Financial Plan that Council will deliberate can be found here:

Share your Input!

Saanich will hold six budget meetings from March 1 until mid-April. At these Committee of the Whole meetings, Saanich residents are welcome to share their feedback with Council during the public input sections.

All of Council's meetings are available via live webcast. The webcasts are also recorded and include presentation materials which you can view at your convenience.

Although in-person attendance is now permitted at Council meetings, space for attendees in the council chambers is extremely limited due to COVID-19 related safety measures and will be available on a first-come first served basis. It's recommended that any residents who wish to attend the meetings in person have an alternate plan for electronic participation in case space is not available.

You can share your input by:

  • Emailing budget@saanich.ca or council@saanich.ca by noon on the day of the meeting;
  • Mailing or dropping off a letter at the Municipal Hall drop box by noon on the day of the meeting; or
  • Registering to call in and speak at the meeting. Registration details are available on the meeting agenda.
